St. Pete BOZO's Have Egg on their Face- PC is DEAD

Pro-Osama Educrats Have Egg on Their Faces

Since Sept. 11 we have reported one example after another of government school bureaucrats censoring patriotic expression, then giving in to public outrage. Here is the most preposterous case yet.

To juice up a physics project, a high school class in St. Petersburg, Fla., planned Thursday to drop eggs from a 35-foot-high cherry picker onto a huge poster of terrorist kingpin Osama bin Laden.

Then taxpayer-supported bureaucrats canceled the project because, they claimed, it could be seen as "culturally insensitive," whatever that means.

"There's nobody here who would be offended except other terrorists, and I don't really care about them," teacher Patricia Thomas, who dreamed up the plan and paid $500 for the poster, told the St. Petersburg Times. "It's just another act of political correctness."

Here's what Ron Stone, spokesman for Pinellas County government schools, had to say: "I reviewed it with a couple of people and I thought perhaps, especially with our emphasis on multicultural issues ... that it would not be a good thing to do. Perhaps we could do something less controversial ... maybe a poster that said terrorism."

Yes, we wouldn't want to offend bin Laden and his fellow mass murderers, would we?

Senior John Healy, 17, told the Times: "I don't think it will have the same enthusiasm now. I understand it may be politically incorrect, but what he did to America was pretty politically incorrect."

Correction: Attacking America is very P.C., in the eyes of the anti-choice, pro-censorship leftists who invented political correctness.

But there's a happy ending. Stung by complaints and bad publicity, the educrats have had a sudden outbreak of common sense and allowed the egging of bin Laden to go ahead, Fox News Channel reported tonight.

And government school bureaucrats keep wondering why more and more parents are turning to home schooling and private schools.
